Founder's Engineering Journey
Akshat Sharma's journey as a technologist started through self-directed exploration of operating system internals, Linux environment customization, and network protocols directly on mobile hardware via Termux. Fascinated by distributed computing and web communication standards, he progressed from building developer CLI tools to architecting full-scale web platforms.
During his Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) studies, Akshat observed the growing discontent among students and creators across India regarding social platforms: predatory algorithms that monopolized screen time, aggressive advertisements interrupting every interaction, and non-transparent moderation. Rather than accepting this status quo, he founded AXIONIK to engineer principled digital infrastructure.
Under AXIONIK, Akshat architected FriendsBook entirely from the ground up: designing the database schemas, the vertical video streaming pipelines, real-time message routing, and the obsidian glassmorphic interface system.
A Message From Akshat Sharma
"We didn't build FriendsBook to copy the algorithmic traps of Silicon Valley incumbents. We built it to demonstrate that India can produce world-class software platforms rooted in honesty, speed, and genuine user agency. Your feed should reflect what your friends are doing right now—not what an engagement algorithm thinks will make you outraged. We will keep building with clean architecture and uncompromising respect for your digital privacy."
